Archive for December, 2010

In 2010, a total lunar eclipse occurred on the same night of the winter solstice. An event such as this hasn’t occurred since December 21, 1638. That’s 372 years! I wasn’t planning on staying up for it. Rather I just set up a camera rig to capture the night sky as the eclipsing moon passed through it. But once I saw the eclipse begin, I was hooked. I grabbed a tripod and my 70-200mm f/2.8 and sat and shot for 3 hours. (I also had to scale the outside of my complex to retrieve my camera on the balcony…but that’s another story of my bad-A-ness for another time). Here are some of my favorites for you to enjoy. Some clouds moved in later in the morning that started reflecting back the orange glow of the Dallas city lights.

Jesse & Michelle Get Married

December 17, 2010

Jesse and Michelle have been sweethearts since their youth (which really isn’t THAT long ago since they’re still plenty young, HA). They are such a cute and creative couple with an amazing group of friends that have stuck closely to their side through the years. It was a blessing to be a part of their celebration. (Sorry…I went a little trigger happy with the pictures from this one)

My boy Brandon mustered up the courage to plan out a day long excursion for his special lady. Stephanie’s day involved being driven to various locations with special meaning to meet with friends and family, who would deliver a letter from Brandon to her. Her final destination was at the Village Church Northway campus, where she first met Brandon. The other special surprise for her was that her closest friends and family were sitting in the balcony, watching silently as Brandon gushed in nervousness. After she said yes, he had her turn around to a scream of excitement from those she loves. I was honored to capture this moment for them and thankful that I didn’t have to be a creepy ninja to do so.

Joe, Jennifer, and Abigail

December 3, 2010

On a rather muggy morning in Dallas, TX, I met with Joe and Jennifer to do 2 things: capture Baby Abigail’s 1 year old cuteness and Joe and Jennifer’s love for each other. Unfortunately for Abigail, she had a bit of a runny nose. However, that meant that she had her tongue out in just about every one of her pictures, making her that much more adorable.
